Opening of the exhibition "Germogli e Scritture"

On Sunday 22 March, the *Germogli e scritture* solo exhibition by François Bonjour opened at the Galleria Vecchia Posta in Brusino Arsizio.
The opening was a particularly intense and successful occasion, characterised by an atmosphere of engagement, curiosity and genuine dialogue around the works, which captivated visitors, the artist’s friends and art lovers alike.

The success of the opening confirmed the strength of the artistic exploration that François Bonjour has been developing for years, centred on the themes of writing, the mark and memory.
In the works on display, painting meets fragments of paper, diverse materials and unexpected surfaces, giving rise to compositions in which every element finds a poetic balance. Some works are created from pages of books from the past, salvaged and transformed into new visual narratives; others feature delicate sprouts, threads and reliefs that emerge from the surface, making the work seem almost alive, vibrant, as if breathed upon by a gentle breeze.

As was also highlighted in the opening address, the exhibition showcases the consistency of Bonjour’s career; he is an artist of long-standing experience, capable of remaining recognisable without ever repeating himself. Born in 1948 in Neuchâtel, and having trained in Turin and at the CSIA in Lugano, François Bonjour lives and works in Dino and retains a special connection with Brusino, where he lived for many years. This solo exhibition thus also takes on the significance of a homecoming, both personal and artistic.

The variety of works on display was highly appreciated: pieces that engage with literature, the memory of objects and recycled materials, but also works on unusual media such as X-rays, reinterpreted with sensitivity and a light touch. The result is an original visual universe, composed of layers, traces, subtle irony and constant openings to the imagination.
